Yahoo! Answers is one of the largest community-driven knowledge based website that allows users to ask and answer questions posed by other users. To encourage users to participate in the community, users are given points and rank levels. Yahoo! Answers covers a broad range of topics. Currently, there are 27 categories in Yahoo! Answers ranging from Health, Computers & Internet. Food & Drink, etc. Besides USA, Yahoo! Answers also covers international users i.e., Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Philippines, Quebec, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, United Kingdom. So what are the basic steps to get traffics from Yahoo! Answers?.

According to Data from Nielsen/NetRatings, the result shows that Yahoo! Answers is by far Yahoo’s fastest growing channel; it went from an average monthly unique audience of 2.3 million at December 2005 to 15.7 million at December 2006. That’s a growth of 578% per year. No doubt, with the huge base of users, Yahoo! Answers can be a good platform to drive traffic to your blog.

Basically, in order to drive traffics from Yahoo! Answers to your blog, there are several basic steps that you can take.

1. Answer relevant Questions. Search through Yahoo! Answers for questions related to your blog. Provide answer and insert related post link from your blog as source of information.

2. Be the first person to answer. It is always at your advantage if you’re the first person to answer a question. Not only you leave a good first impression, most likely your answer will be chosen as the Best Answer. The best answer will be given extra 1 point. This can be helpful to promote you to a higher rank.

3. Provide good answers. Yahoo! Answers is a community-driven website. You should always try to provide good answers to related questions instead of spamming with links to your blog. The goal here is to participate in the community and in turn gain trust and visitors to your blog. Yahoo! Answers has a strict policy on site abuse. Spammers will be banned from Yahoo! Answers and all answers will be deleted.

4. Be the Top Answerer. Yahoo! Answer ranks top answerers for every category in the Top 10 Answerers listing. Being listed in the Top 10 Answerers is another good way to promote yourself and your blog. Since, there are lots of people on Yahoo! Answers that spend a lot of time providing quality answers, so it makes sense some of the askers (yes, that is how it is called in Yahoo!) would like to know the top answerers better.

5. Build a social network. Beginning of March 2007, Yahoo! Answers allows users to add answerer as their contacts. The main purpose of this new feature is to help highlights the better content and allow users to create social networks within Yahoo! Answers. Thus the rule here is simple. Provide good answers, and you will be loved by others.
