Its easy to use, but is definitely STILL Beta software. I have a typepad pro account for my blog and WLW does not perfectly interface to typepad yet. Example...at set up it asks if it can place a temprorary blog post to your site in order to determine your site design template. Not only does that feature NOT WORK, it also does not remove the temporary post. It is a little bit of a hassle to go into your blog and remove this temporary post. Also, if you look at the actual HTML code that Windows Live Writer generates, its pretty bloated. Especially if you make changes such as bolding text, then unbolding, or reformating, or pasting in text from another application that itself is SGML based, such as Word. You take all the type attributes from the old application, then WLW reformats it...to what it thinks its supposed to be. This app has great promise. Its a keeper for me. Especially because it has certain integration points with technorati tags, etc. However, its a bit of a mess regarding the quality of actual code level control you might have if you needed it.
