Google AdSense Logo

For all you Google Publishers out there. Listen up!. Google AdSense has updated their Policies. According to AdSense Blog, all Google Publishers are required to comply with the spirit of our Page Quality Guidelines.

We’re now requiring AdSense publishers to comply with the spirit of our Page Quality Guidelines. If you’re an AdWords advertiser, you might already be familiar with these guidelines, which are intended to provide a better experience for users, advertisers, and publishers alike. If you use any kind of online advertising, know that these guidelines encourage publishers to, among other things, create sites with simple navigation and substantial, useful content.

This new policy requirement doesn’t mean that you can’t use online advertising; it simply means that if you do, you need to be sure that the way you advertise meets with the guidelines, whether it’s through AdWords or through any other advertising program. However you advertise your site, it can always benefit from significant and relevant content, clear navigation, and the other points in our quality guidelines.

Another interesting update is the ad placement for link unit ads. Google added the following update:

Now you can place up to three link units on a page

Yay!. This is definitely a good news. It means that publishers are not limited to just a single ad unit, they now can have up to three link unit ads, so you can now have link unit at your left bar, right bar, top bar, footer, header, and all over your site. :-)

If you are still not sure on how to place your link unit ads, Google provides a good example for link units placement.

Alright, no question is too stupid to ask.
What is the different between google and google adsense.

Guru, u really make $ with google adsense ?

I put links on my blog, so far, I only earn $6. Wow, very difficult of $ to make like that.

Jamy, Google is a search engine where you type in your keywords to search something. While AdSense is an ad serving program run by Google. Website owners or bloggers can enroll in this program to enable advertisements in the form of text, image and, more recently, video advertisements on their sites and earn revenue whenever visitors click on the ads. (I hope Google is paying me for doing this promotion for them, Haha)

Yup, I do earn money from Google AdSense. However, it is not an easy task. It takes time. Slowly build up your content.
So you earned $6, that is not bad at all. Soon it will turn to $600 or $6000 :-)

but links has lower payout than the ads … you have to click twice to be paid

so if there 3 link ads vs 3 big ads, you’ve 50-50chance they’ll click either

if there’s 1 link ad vs 3 big ads, higher chance they’ll click the big ads

so in turn i’ll still stick with just 1 link ads

Yup, I agree with you. That’s why I still stick with just 1 link ads too :-)

This is a nice update. Link units can be profitable and still unobtrusive for readers.

Hi,

I do agree link units are unobtrusive, but I think it is hard to convince readers to click and convert that click into earning.
