You probably have wished to make full time revenue from the internet. It is possible. Earning a decent income online is no longer a wishful thinking.

Auctions in eBay can be another easy source to make a living online. Why do I say so? Probably because I have tested the water and it is now my sole income provider at this moment. There are 5 basics steps to help you make money through eBay.

1. Sell Quality Products

With the large range of items available in eBay, it is easy to fall into the trap of getting cheaper but poor quality goods to compete. In the long run, this will affect your business negatively. Customers will gradually recognize about your items and may not leave healthy feedbacks for you.

In the long run, it is better to sell something of quality although the margin could be lower. You can always increase your price as you go along and customer do buy from you when you have made a reputation for yourself for selling quality goods.

2. Prompt Customer Service
I can’t stress this enough. Not only in eBay, but everywhere we go. In this world where the market is highly competitive, it pays to response to customer’s questions or other needs on time courteously.

Be in communication throughout the entire transaction, like sending a thank you note for payment and shipment notices. Keeping in touch throughout the process can avoid many misunderstandings which may occur.

3. Shipping on Time
Ship your parcel quickly after you have received the payment. If you can’t do so, or if you do not have ready stocks, do mention that in your listings. One impression with buying from eBay is customers assume that you have the stock on hand and that you can ship quickly. Where possible, state the approximate time it takes to reach the customers.

4. Market Yourself
Selling in eBay need not be boring. There are various ways to market yourself other than listing in the correct category. Here are some examples:

a. Set up Cross Promotion with other eBay seller
b. Create an eBay Blog and get to know some eBay member there
c. Write your About Me page
d. Share your knowledge about products and information. Submit Reviews and Guides in eBay
e. Response to the Want It Now section.

5. Test, Test, Test and Test
Nothing beats your own experience when it comes to making money online. You can only prepare so much, but there are bound to be something unexpected that would take place. When one thing did not work out, try doing things in a different way. If you are always in the prepare-and-research stage or afraid of risks, you will never get a feel of making money online.

Jenny, thank you so very much to share your experience. I have gone to yr blog and left a small note for you. I am very touched by yr life story.

Do u trade in ebay asia or ebay America (if there is asian and n. america, difference).

1. Do u buy things from ebay and sell it through ebay ?
or
2. U buy things from normal retail market and sell it in ebay ?

I have a friend who puts through 3 of her sons through college selling ebay. Her specialty is vintage lace.

I brought a few things from Sarawak and tried to sell them through ebay but I did not make a whole lot. I also tried a few times to sell baby staff (stuff that my son used before) but I did not make much $. At one times I was thinking of getting stuff from garage sale and sell it through ebay but never actually do it.

From what I understand from yr site, yr strategy is find out what is the hot trend, what are the things that are most sort after. Then sort for those goods and sell them ?

Again, thank u for sharing yr experience.

Jamy

KH : Yeah, I too would like to know what Jenny is selling through eBay.

I am surprised that u still can make a decent living out of ebay because a lot of my friends are not making as much as they used to do cos of the ever increasing listing price that ebay is making on seller.
Does that effect you ?

Haiya… Ebay… I can’t entered because of paypal matter. I still can’t solved the problem on withdrawing my money from paypal. So, I’m not dare enough to earn money with ebay.

I have got some digit on my paypal account from PPP and other services that pay me with paypal. That’s my biggest headache now….

Ebay looks good on me. because formerly, I was a service seller and hard goods negotiation too (before I get stuck in financial department). And I think, Ebay auction will be suitable to me. Unfortunately, ebay can’t support me.

So if you can’t use your money in PayPal, you can always transfer to me :-)

In terms of bang for bucks there simply isnt amarketplace that can compete with Ebay. The fees are simply something that has to be factored into your costings, if they are to much then you are simply not gettingthe product at the right price.
