Currently, there over millions of blog out there. In order make your blog stands out from the rest, you got to focus on a specific niche. One of the best search engine optimization (SEO) method is through keyword density. Basically, keyword density is the percentage that your keyword or keyword phrase that can be found from blog contents. The perfect keyword density will help achieve higher search engine positions. So what are the ways to check keyword density for your blog?.

Keyword density calculation is pretty simple. You don’t need to be a genius to be able to calculate keyword density for any particular page. Moreover, you don’t even need any super software or tools to calculate it – save your money. However, if you would like to focus your blog with certain keywords as compared to your competitors, you may want to checkout your competitors and see what keyword density they are using. A word of caution, do not over do it, to manipulate a page to be high in keyword density will be considered search engine spam and can get you blacklisted. You don’t want that to happen. You want all the search engines to love you your blog, right?. :P

There are few ways to check your keyword density. Here are some of it:

Word Processing software

1. Copy and paste the content from an individual web page into a word-processing software program like Word or Word Perfect.

2. From the “Tools” menu select “Word Count”. Write down the total number of words in that page

3. Next, use the “Find” and “Replace” function, type in the same keywords that you would like check in both “Find” and “Replace”. Once you click OK, it will provide a count of the words you replaced and will give the number of times you have used the keywords in that page.

4. Using the total word count for the page and the total number of keywords you can now calculate the keyword density. Simple mathematics of percentage calculation.

Website

There are plenty of sites where all you need to do is to enter your blog’s URL and the relevant keywords then it will provide you with free and fast analysis of your blog. For example:

Can using my automated brain SEO word identification considered as part of the keyword density tools? LOL! Actually, I have my own way of doing it. You have stated one of the point which is write within your targeted keywords. Next will be summarizing the whole content to fit into few words that can describe the article clearly. Then I set that as tags.

Cikgu Criz, as long as you write within your targeted keywords, then it should be ok.

I don’t have a clue yet but will find out more later.

Have a few questions.
1. What is page rank related to this issue ?
2. What are 3 major differences between page view and page rank ?
3. Which ones of the followings affect page rank more in blog ?
a. History
b. Comments
c. Readers

Another question.

I notice most of my google adv tied up with my content. I notice I got a lot of google adv on gainesville florida .
So my content is full of ‘how to retire in style’ will all the mutual funds companies adv come up ?

Thank you guru KH

Jamy, here are your answers:
1. Page Rank is some sort of importance measurement of your site developed by Google. In other words, if your blog has a high rank, Google considers your blog to be important. There are many factors that determine your page rank. One of it is links from other sites. Normally, the more links to your blog, then your blog will have higher page rank.

2. A page view is a request to load a single page of an Internet site.

3. The actual page rank algorithm is a guarded secret. Therefore it is hard to know what are the factors that influence page rank. However, basic search engine optimization will help you to improve your page rank.

As for the last question, AdSense ads are contextual ads. Type of ads that appear on your blog depend on the content. That is why you need to check keyword density. If you blog is filled with keywords like Florida and retirement, then most probably ads related to Florida and retirement will appear. :-)
