5 Simple Search Engine Optimization (SEO) tips for eBay store

If you are planning to venture into eBay, getting traffic to your eBay store is as important as getting traffics from search engines to your site. For ebay, it is vital that your product listings show up in eBay search engine and if possible web search engines e.g., Google, Yahoo! etc. In other words, it is important that potential buyers are able to find your items that you are selling in eBay. Items that are easily accessible will have a higher chance to be sold. Here are a compilation of 5 simple SEO tips for eBay store.

1. Put 1-3 keywords in your listing title

No doubt a proper researched listing title is the first step for proper SEO. For example, if you’re selling printer, listing title like “EPSON STYLUS C70Plus COLOUR INKJET PRINTER” is a better listing title than “Epson Inkjet Printer”

2. Proper keywords in your listing description

You should include a 200-word detailed description of your product. Again, you should provide a good description with all the relevant keywords.

3. Research proper keywords for your product listing

Try to find out what kind of keywords your competitors are using for the same product. Check out how successful are those keywords by looking at the completed listings history. Find out which keywords perform better by looking at the number of bids and selling price.

4. Create an eBay store or eBay ID using relevant keywords

Use relevant keywords for your eBay store or eBay ID. For example, if you are a Epson Printer seller, a more appropriate eBay store or eBay ID would be EPSONmall.

5. Create links to your eBay store

Now you have an eBay store ready with all your product listings, it is time to build links to it. One of the simplest way is to write a blog and with links to your listings and eBay store. Besides this, you can use your store signature and links in your emails, use your store url as a link from your main website if you have one or use your store url as a signature link in forums.

With these simple steps, it is possible to bring in traffic from eBay and also search engines outside of eBay. If you have any good tips, please share them with me. :-)

Nice tips again. But I believe we are only able to put important keywords into our listings and description. We have less control than a blog.

Hi Tommy,
SEO can be implemented on almost everything related to the Internet.
This post is one good example.

I have to confess here, might be I am a bit dumb, but I still don’t understand about SEO too well. I search your site, I search problogger site. Everyone talk about SEO but I want to ask you just a few simple questions and can you answer me in a layman term , so I can understand.

1.Now, we have a blog. We follow your google master too. Add on whatever you said on our page. Put site map.

2. Set up a few ping in our page (like technocratic etc)

3. Then what follow ?

Sorry lah, tai low, I might look very pretty in my picture but in fact, I am a dumb blonde :) :):)
