Nagarakawa Summer Firework Festival 2007

No summer would be complete in Japan without fireworks. Known as “Hanabi Taikai” (花火大会) or Firework Festival, it is considered to be essential part of Japanese summer nights, and people come out in summer kimono or yukata to enjoy the festival atmosphere and see fireworks which many argue are the world’s most gorgeous and elaborate pyrotechnic displays. One of the largest events for the Gifu Prefecture in Japan is the Nagarakawa Summer Firework Festival (長良川花火大会) held annually on the last Saturday of July and on the first Saturday of August. Held along the famous Nagarakawa river, this annual festival attracted over 300,000 visitors last year. Known as one of the largest firework festivals for East Coast Japan, it was indeed a spectacular firework displays that lasted for more than 1 hour 45 minutes.

That’s similar to the firework competition in Vancouver at English Bay where countries like Japan and China compete!

Hi Grace,
I heard of that competition too.
So which country had the best firework display?
