1GB Storage with Windows Live Skydrive

skydrive

Windows Live Skydrive is doubling everyone’s storage to 1GB. Since its introduction last August 2007, Windows Live Skydrive has gone through several major improvements. Features such as :

  • An upgraded look and feel — new graphics to go along with your new features!
  • “Also on SkyDrive” — easily get back to the SkyDrives you’ve recently visited
  • Thumbnail images — we heard you loud and clear, and now you can see thumbnails of your image files
  • Drag and drop your files — sick of our five-at-a-time upload limit? Drag and drop your files right onto your SkyDrive
  • Embed your stuff anywhere — with just a few clicks, post your files and folders anywhere you can post html.

Besides 1GB storage for everyone, it is possible to get update notification via RSS feeds. To subscribe to an RSS feed, go to the public folder that you’re interested in, and click on the orange RSS Feed icon clip_image002 at the top right of the page. Now it is also possible to share your folder with non hotmail or messenger users. You can share with anyone directly from SkyDrive by typing in your friend’s e-mail address.

Sounds like a great service from Microsoft to me. Check out the new version of Skydrive and share your opinions with me.

Oh, It still better to use the pen-flash disk. If W-Live could over me a 10 Gigs one, May be I will consider using it as an online storage. :)

I read abt this, this is a good move by MS, especially with so much online storage they need to give more space.

Hi Nirmal,

It is so competitive now. I think soon everyone will try to lure for more users by giving out infinity storage space :-)

Hi Madhur,

I am not a fan of Skydrive. However, the more storage the better. As long as it is free. :-)
