One of the main attractions of San Francisco is the famous Pier 39. You can practically find everything at Pier 39. With more than 110 stores, 14 Bay view restaurants, and a variety of fun-filled attractions for all ages including, our world-renowned sea lions, street performers and live daily entertainment, there is definitely something for everyone.

The world-renowned sea lions is the main attraction of Pier 39. As known as the “Sea Lebrities”, the California Sea Lions took over the docks in January 1990 shortly after the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake.  At first they numbered from 10-50, but due to a plentiful herring supply, available dock space and the marina’s protected environment, the population grew to more than 300 within a few months. Each winter, the population can increase up to 900 sea lions, most of which are male. No wonder everyone is happy with San Francisco. Good foods, pretty sceneries - even the Sea Lions are very happy and staying put.
