Talk about this, in fact, I was thinking of this about 10 years ago when I was managing a computer school. The kids having to carry lots of text book, I was thinking in my head if all the books can be download and store in a PDA or what. See what is happening.
New ideas are hard to be accepted. Most people are skeptic to new idea. My mom was the first woman to use rice cooker in her village 50 years ago and she was deemed the devil woman.
At the moment, $399 might seems a lot of money to some but when there is an economic of scale, we might be able to see $99.
As a med student, I rolled along my suitcase with all my heavy books in the library and I wished I could just download all the books I read in a palm pilot. I hope that one of these days the publishers of those books would come to a agreement with amazon to get all our books into ebook. And I believe this will happen in the future. I hope this will happen when my son become a neuro surgeon (just kidding :)).
