Jango is a new player in the overly crowded online music services. With the current problem related to the recent Copyright Royalty Board rulings that increase fees and ask for licensing guarantee, most of the online music services e.g, Pandora are restricted to users from inside of the USA. With Jango, not only you get to enjoy your favorite music online, you also can share them with friends and others who like what you like.

Jango which only publicly launched just few months ago is getting some impressive are the stats from Compete.com, which show that Jango is already aimed at similar well-established services in terms of traffic, having attracted 423,000 US visitors in December 2007 alone, compared to 990,000 unique visitors for Last.fm and 1,596,000 for the current frontrunner, Pandora.

Similar to Pandora, to start listen to your favorite music, just type in what you want to hear - and your station will play the music you want along with similar favorites of other Jango users who share your taste. You can customize your stations further by adding more artists and rating songs.

Social Networking

The social aspect of Jango is that everyone on Jango has a personal “profile page”, which shows their music taste and favorites. The profile page is fully customizable where you can upload a picture and post some information about yourself. All those faces in your player are other Jango users that listen to similar music as you. You can listen to their favorite music by clicking on the song title below each face.

Being a new player, Jango has definitely starting to show that there are more rooms for growth and improvements. As the saying goes, “No Music, No Life”, free music is a good starting point.
