8 alternate ways to embed flickr photos onto your webpages

flickr

If you are into photography, then you would probably know Flickr. Acquired by Yahoo in March 2005, Flickr is a photo sharing website and web services suite, and an online community platform. With Flickr, you can upload your photos to Flickr and even share your photos in your webpages. There’s a lot of ways to get your Flickr photos onto a web page or blog post. Below are 8 alternate ways to embed flickr photos onto your webpages.

1. Javascript FlickrShow

Flickrshow is a lightweight, cross-browser javascript slideshow, providing you with an easy way to display your Flickr images on your own website. It is simple to install and can be used to access images within Flickr groups or photosets, or using a tag-based search.

2. flickrSLiDR

flickrslidr

flickrSLiDR allows you to easily embed the classic flickr slideshows on your website or blog. All you need to do is enter the flickr URL address of the user, photo set or group you would like to embed along with some options. You’ll receive the HTML embed code in return.

3. Slideflickr

 slideflickr

Similar to flickrSLiDR, Slideflickr allows you to create and embed Flickr slideshows in 3 steps.

4. Mbedr

Mbedr is a utility that will allow you to embed a photo from Flickr on your own site while retaining any annotated regions present on the original.

5. Flickr Slideshow Generator

Another alternative to generate Flickr Slideshow by using Flickr Slideshow Generator. Flickr Slideshow Generator allows you to generate the HTML necessary to embed a custom Flickr Slideshow in your page or blog

6. Slideoo

Slideoo is the horizontal horizontal photo slideshow for flickr. You can create your horizontal photo slideshow with your flickr username. Moreover, you can share your slideshow with your friends by email.

7. Yourminis Flickr widget

Yourminis Flickr widget initially displays “interesting” photos from Flickr – one of the premiere online photo sharing sites. You can move your mouse over the widget to see the controls for the slideshow, including stop, play, forward, etc. In addition, you can click on the edit dropdown to change views (thumb or slideshow), search for photos or users, set the current photo as your start page background and even pop out photos.

8. PictoBrowser

PictoBrowser is a free web application that displays Flickr images on websites and blogs. For customization, you can use the PictoBrowser Builder to customize the look and functionality of your PictoBrowser to best suit your images and your website’s design. PictoBrowser’s Builder Preview lets you see the changes you make in real-time.

Excellent list of Flickr resources. I show some photos on my blog, but I’m sure I could do a better job of it.

Super useful. Thanks a LOT! How does Picasa for posting images on your site compare to flickr in your opinion. I used to use Google for that sort of stuff.
