I would question the uptake level. Given that online backup prices have fallen through the floor, this seems a complicated and risky way to save a few bucks. I could be wrong but I believe that the type of user who goes through the complicated process of configuring this just to save a few dollars will not be expected to be easily converted in to a paying client no matter what premium services are offered. Logmein are in this market with logmein backup and they are a blue chip company. Hard to compete with them on a free product basis. We wait and see.
