Grand Finale - MIFC 2008

THE month-long Malaysia International Fireworks Competition 2008 (MIFC 2008), the country’s largest and most spectacular fireworks display came to a pulsating end with Team Australia sealing the night with what is described as pyrotechnic artistry.

The MIFC kicked off on Aug 12 with Malaysia as the first competitor. This is the second competition of its kind in the country.

The venue in front of the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) was turned into a festive ground with crowds converging as early as 7pm to occupy the best positions to view fireworks.

Three other competitors, China, Canada and Spain lit up the skies on Aug 16, 20 and 29 respectively while final day Grand Finale was a joint collaboration performance between last year’s champion Team Australia and Malaysia’s Global 2000 Sdn Bhd.

The Grand Finale show started at 10pm and the excitement lasted for 25 minutes with a brilliant display of colours and coordination, The skies came alive with intermittent bursts of fireworks, played to the accompaniment of dramatic choreographed music scores.
