I actually have some newsletter I ended up joining in the process of submitting to a directory, which spams me once a week with any downtime I had during the week, trying to advertise their service which does what you pointed out above.
The only problem that I have found so far with using services like this is that they can sometimes screw up your analytics if you are using a log based solution. Google Analytics and the like dont seem to have to much problem with them though.
