Microsoft MyPhone : Online Backup service for mobile phone

One of Major highlight of the new Windows Mobile 6.5 update is Microsoft’s MyPhone service that allows sync and back up of phone content to the service website, protected by a password.

Microsoft’s MyPhone is a phone-to-cloud synchronization service that will work with most Windows Mobile-based devices. MyPhone lets users access, manage and back up their personal information on a smartphone to a password-protected Web-based service. Users can store their contacts, appointments, text messages and other information, which can be uploaded to a device if their smartphone is lost or stolen. They can also upload photos and video from their smartphones to the My Phone service to preserve data. The service is expected to be compatible with most devices that run Windows Mobile version 6 or higher.

A My Phone account gives users 200MB of free storage on the My Phone Web site. Microsoft said if a synchronization would exceed that limit, users will receive an error message on their phone and their My Phone account will only include information received before the limit was reached. Any files in excess of the 200MB limit will not be saved.

According to the My Phone site, Microsoft My Phone will be free for the time being, but mobile phone carriers may require a data-transfer charge when the service is used. The MyPhone web portal is currently in invite-only beta mode. [via]

Hey nice tips. Is this only for Windows Mobile powered smart phones? If not, do you have any free tool suggestion for Nokias?
