Simple way to Import Your Blog Into Facebook

facebook-note

If you are a blogger then you might want to promote your blog posts to your Facebook friends. However it is not simple to import your blog RSS feed into Facebook. The trick is to know that Facebook considers your external blog entries “Notes”. Thus, in order to import your blog, you need to go to your “Notes” application section in Facebook and tweak it.

1. First of all, you’ll need to make sure that you have the Facebook “Notes” application installed and it is showing on your profile.

2. Sign into Facebook and click here for the Notes application.

3. At the top left of the Notes application page, you’ll see 2 links: My Notes | Notes About Me. Click on the “My Notes” link. Then, in the right column under Note Settings (as shown in picture above) click on “Import A Blog”.

4. Enter the URL or RSS feed of your blog in the form provided. Make sure that you select the box confirming your ownership rights and click the “Start Importing” link.

5. Confirm that Facebook found the right blog and choose to “Continue” or “Cancel” depending on the results. For your information, once a blog is imported, you are unable to edit the external blog posts from within Facebook.

6. Continue to blog. Every time you post a new blog, it will be fetched by Facebook and appear in your notes with the title and first 2 lines of the blog post.

7. You can edit the imported blog setting by clicking this link.

I’ve developed blogging application for Facebook:

http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=127423355320

It allows you to import posts from external blogs and display them at your profile (both profile box and profile tab are supported).

I think this application may be useful when you’re not satisfied with Notes.
