Facebook notification monitor for GNOME

If you are a linux user, then you most probably using GNOME as your desktop environment. GNOME is the graphical user interface which runs on top of a computer operating system. It is composed entirely of free software. Unfortunately  for many linux users, there aren’t many Facebook applications. Facebook-notify is a simple application that monitors your Facebook profile and notifies you when it changes.

Facebook-notify will notify you when any of the following events occur

  • One of your friends changes their status, profile picture, or profile details
  • You receive a friend request, event or group invitation
  • Someone writes on one of your friends walls
  • One of your friends is tagged in a photo

How to install

Installation is not currently supported. To run facebook-notify simply do the following

  • ./facebook-notify.py
  • Click on the Facebook icon that appears in the notification area and select Connect
  • Type your facebook connection details in the window that appears

Download Facebook-notify : zip or tar formats.

Do you know why I can’t get this to work? I can’t click Log In -button…
