In case you are not aware, YouTube supports closed captioning for your videos. If you would like to add caption to one of your videos, you can click on the “Captions and subtitles” section and upload a captions file.
Captions and subtitles are the dialog of a video in written text format. Sometimes they also include information to help folks follow the dialog, like descriptions of music, phones ringing, and other sounds in a video’s audio track. For now, YouTube supports two formats: SubViewer (*.SUB) and SubRip (*.SRT). “To add several captions to a video, simply upload multiple files. If you want to include foreign subtitles in multiple languages, upload a separate file for each language.
Now you can add caption to your YouTube videos easily with CaptionTube. It is a web service powered by Google App Engine.
Before you can add caption to your videos, you need to click Go to YouTube below and grant CaptionTube access to your videos. Once you have authorized CaptionTube, you can select to import the video to CaptionTube. Videos are imported as refereces to CaptionTube.
If you have personally uploaded videos to YouTube, click Personal Video. If you have not uploaded a video, but know its URL on YouTube, click Specific Video. You can create captions for it and then export and email them to the owner.
