With the amount of interest being build up for the new Star Trek movie, we often wonder whether we have progress over the last few years with regards to ever reaching the dream of traveling at warp speed or being able to say “beam me up Scotty”.

Communication between our astronauts, cosmonauts or taikonauts (depending where on earth you are from) has always been between them and their respective space agencies. There have never really been any direct communication between them and the rest of the general public … until now!
