WordPress has just released the latest version of their installable blog software: WordPress 2.8 – Baker. WordPress 2.8 offers a re-designed widgets interface, improved speed, and has fixed a reported 790 bugs.

Some of the major improvements for WordPress 2.8 are:

• Speed : WordPress 2.8 is reported to be faster to use
• Quick Theme Installation : You can now browse the entire theme directory and install a theme with one click from the comfort of your WordPress dashboard.
• New Interface : WordPress 2.8 has a completely new interface. Now you can do things like edit widgets on the fly, have multiple copies of the same widget, drag and drop widgets between sidebars, and save inactive widgets
