Virtual Router turns any Windows 7 or Windows 2008 R2 Computer into a Wifi Hot Spot using Windows 7’s Wireless Hosted Network (Virtual Wifi) technology. Currently the developers is offering the program as a beta version that could be freely downloaded.

For users, there are several options available for customization. Users can start with the Start Virtual Router button. This button is only active if the computer uses a supported wireless adapter. Besides that, users can customize network name and security password. Virtual Router uses WPA2 Encryption to provide a solid protection for the wireless network and there is not way to turn off that encryption. This is actually a feature of the Wireless Hosted Network API’s built into Windows 7 and 2008 R2.
