Amazon ‘Kindle Publishing for Blogs’ beta program is now open for blogger to submit their blogs to Amazon for listing through the Kindle Publishing for Blog beta. As a blog owner, all you have to do is make your blog RSS feed available to the Kindle Store and Amazon will format your content for the delivery on the Kindle via Amazon Whispernet. With that, this blog, kuanhoong dot com is now also listed for subscription on Amazon.

This program is open to blogs from anywhere in the world. However, the payment by wire transfer is only applicable to U.S citizens only. For non U.S publisher, you can tick off the check option and have Amazon mail you the payments. For all the blog owners out there, you got to submit your blog for approval. Once your is approved and listed, readers will be able to subscribe to it and when they do, then you will make money. The subscription revenue will be divided 70/30, where 70% will be given to Amazon and 30% will be given to you.

Amazon Associates to end referral fees for paid search traffic

The Amazon Associates Program is one of the largest and most successful online affiliate program had decided to end the referral fees to all Associates that send users to Amazon via PPC ads such as paid search on Google. In short, there should no more direct linking from paid search ads to Amazon site by May 1, 2009 or you will face the risk of having your account closed.

As per email sent to all Amazon Associates :

Dear Amazon Associate:
We’re writing to let you know about a change to the Amazon Associates Program. After careful review of how we are investing our advertising resources, we have made the decision to no longer pay referral fees to Associates who send users to www.amazon.com, www.amazon.ca, or www.endless.com through keyword bidding and other paid search on Google, Yahoo, MSN, and other search engines, and their extended search networks. If you’re not sure if this change affects you, please visit this page for FAQs.
As of May 1, 2009, Associates will not be paid referral fees for paid search traffic. Also, in connection with this change, as of May 1, 2009, Amazon will no longer make data feeds available to Associates for the purpose of sending users to the Amazon websites in the US or Canada via paid search.
This change applies only to the Associates programs in North America. AuctionAds moves to ShoppingAds

Roughly two months ago, MediaWhiz (the owners of Text Link Ads) have today launched a new ad service – ShoppingAds (aff). ShoppingAds is a hybrid product that serves both CPA (cost per action) ads provided by eBay and CPC (cost per click) ads provided by our shopping comparison engine partners. However, there is much confusion regarding the difference between AuctionAds (aff) and ShoppingAds. Thus, it is a logical move to merge both AuctionAds and ShoppingAds into one as ShoppingAds.

The good thing is AuctionAds user can still login using the existing account and there is no need to change any existing code or links. For the existing AuctionAds users the only change you will see is the “Ads By AuctionAds” displayed on your ads will change to “Ads By ShoppingAds”. The other significant change is the ability for you to become a Premium Publisher. By becoming a premium publisher you will have the opportunity to be paid on a CPC (cost per click) basis for all your US and Canadian traffic while you can monetize your international traffic on a CPA (cost per action) basis. Standard publisher’s traffic will be monetized 100% on a CPA basis. Your account will be reviewed for Premium Status in the coming days and you will be notified if you qualify.
