There are over 2,045 high-quality goods from 250 local entrepreneurs across Malaysia ranging from locally-produced bathing soaps and spice powders; as well as local delicacies as honey sea cucumber, seaweed strawberry drinks and other delicious traditional cakes. Visitors my find that products sold at MAH can be as much as 30 percent compared to similar products sold on the open market.

Greedy Miao Steamed Fish (i喂食貓蒸魚) is a newly opened steamed fish restaurant in Bandar Mahkota Cheras. Besides their signature steamed fish with soya sauce, you may find other delicious dishes too e.g. Special Spicy Sauce Curry Pork Ribs, Qi Zi Steamed Prawn, Home town Yong Tau Fu, and many more.

This is our first experience at Greedy Miao Steamed Fish, so having a steamed fish as main dish is a must. However, instead of ordering their signature steamed fish, we tried out the Hot & Spicy Steamed Tilapia Fish in Melaka Style. A price for regular size steamed fish is RM30.

Overall, the fish was nice. It would have been better if it is more spicy.

The Marmite Chicken Wings were abit too sweet for us.

Besides fish, we also had Marmite Chicken Wings. The price for a small size is RM10.

For our first experience, we felt the foods were not bad. We are looking forward to go back and try out other dishes too.

Nokia together with Angry Birds are going to break the Guinness World Records for the Most People Playing in a Mobile Phone Game Relay. The World’s Biggest Angry Birds Playground by Nokia is currently going on around Plaza Low Yat’s Boulevard Strip starting from 11 a.m – 9 p.m. June 11 2011. In order to set the Guinness World Records, it is required to have more than 1000 people played the Angry Birds game using Nokia mobile phone.

Besides playing the Angry Birds game, there are tons of other activities too. You can try out the human catapult, sling and win contest, Angry Birds face painting game, as well as get to try out Nokia phones.

How to register a Business or Company in Malaysia via online

In order to start a business in Malaysia, you are required to register your business or company with Companies Commission of Malaysia (Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia, SSM). According to the Business Registration Act 1956, business or company owner(s) is required to register his/her business within 30 days before and after the business commencement.

In case you are not aware, there are two types of business registrations. You can either register a business (ROB) mean where you register a new enterprise, or a sole proprietor business. For ROB, anyone can register for it if you would like to get a license for your business. The other type of registration is to register a company (ROC) which means you can register your company with “Sendirian Berhad” SDN BHD or ‘Berhad” BHD.

If you are living in Klang Valley, there are three locations where you can go physically and register your business or company. The three locations are :

SSM, Level 16, Putra Place, 100, Jalan Putra, 50350 Kuala Lumpur.

However, if you don’t have the time to go physically and register your business or company, the good news is now you can do it online. To begin, simply go to SSM E-Lodgement Services. (as always, registration online ONLY can be done “efficiently” by using Microsoft Internet Explorer)

The followings are steps required to register a business with SSM:

Before you can begin to register your business or company, you are required to sign up as “SSM Subscriber”. (The subscriber fees is RM5 per annum for ROB and RM120 for ROC). There are mainly two payment methods; i. via Credit Card and ii. Financial Process Exchange (FPX), which I guess is interbank wire transfer.
Registration as SSM Subscriber is done over www.gov.my mygovernment service. If you are not mygovernment member, then you got to sign up as one. For SSM Registration, please register as INDIVIDUAL User. Only 2 types of users that are allowed to register as SSM Subscriber: Permanent (Resident) and Malaysian (Citizen).
Once you are registered as SSM subscriber, you can now register your own business of company. Prior to registering a business or company, you are required to get your business name or company name approved. Both processes required to search for an unique name relevant to your business. For Application for Business Name Approval (ROB), click here, while Request for Availability of Name (ROC) , click here.
As I have registered a business (ROB), I will share my experience based on the processes taken to register a business. I guess there are not much differences between ROB and ROC, except there are more forms to be filled for ROC. For ROB, in order to get your Business Name approved, fill up the application form with all the required details.
Upon submission of the completed form, you will need to wait for name to be approved. Normally it takes around 1-2 days for the name to be approved. It is advisable to choose your business name wisely and choose a business name with minimum 3 words. If your business is approved, you will receive an email notification with an unique reference number.

In case you didn’t receive any email, you can also check your registration status via myPortal on www.malaysia.gov.my.
The next step is business registration. In order to register your approved business name, remember to copy the approval reference number stated in your email. Fill up the registration form accordingly.
After completed filling up all the necessary information, click the “Submit” button. Next, you will be redirected to to the payment screen.

Make your payment according number of years that you want for your business.
Upon successful payment, you will receive two emails; one is a notification email regarding your application is successful and the another one is your business registration e-certificate (in pdf format). With that, you are now the owner of a registered business.
Lastly, if you need a physical copy of the certificate, you need to go to SSM personally and ask a print out of the certificate for RM10.

That is all. Good luck registering your own business or company online. Next I will share my experience on opening a new bank account for with the registered business.

If you are looking for some adventures and a place for “makan” which is not far from Kuala Lumpur, then the Fish/Vegi Farm Restaurant (菜园酒家) is the right place for you. Located along the road to Hulu Langat, this restaurant is quite secluded and hidden.

However, once you are in the restaurant, it is quite a refreshing experience. You may find yourself transported to a farm land surrounded with hills where the restaurant is actually is built on stilts and located on top of a fish pond. To make things more interesting, all fishes served are actually caught freshly from the pond.

In terms of food selections, there are plenty of choices too especially for seafood. For our dinner, we ordered BBQ Japanese Snails (RM22), Steamed Tilapia Limau Thai-Style (RM30), Tomyam Sotong with Coconut milk (RM18), Lala Goreng Cili (RM13), Pakul Bawang Putih (RM15), Ayam Goreng Daun Limau (RM15). As for desserts, we ordered Mango with Sticky Rice (RM8) and Tum Tim Krob or Water chestnut (RM5).

Overall, the price was quite ok. For 5 persons, we spent around RM181. Definitely a good place to explore for good foods and nice surroundings.

Cyberjaya is known as the Intelligent City or Silicon Valley of Malaysia and where most of the MSC Status Companies are located. However, besides its technological advances, Cyberjaya offers photographers a good location to shoot sunset, flora and fauna.

The Cyberjaya Lake Gardens is a 400-acre’ green lung’ for Cyberjaya. Presently, about 86 acres of the land has been developed with facilities including Visitor’s Information Centre, Boardwalk, Look-Out Tower, children’s playground, 15 acres of main lake and 29 acres of natural and wetland.

While waiting for sunset, photographers also can shoot some of the beautiful lotus around the lakes.
