California Sea Lions at Pier 39, San Francisco

One of the main attractions of San Francisco is the famous Pier 39. You can practically find everything at Pier 39. With more than 110 stores, 14 Bay view restaurants, and a variety of fun-filled attractions for all ages including, our world-renowned sea lions, street performers and live daily entertainment, there is definitely something for everyone.

The world-renowned sea lions is the main attraction of Pier 39. As known as the “Sea Lebrities”, the California Sea Lions took over the docks in January 1990 shortly after the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. At first they numbered from 10-50, but due to a plentiful herring supply, available dock space and the marina’s protected environment, the population grew to more than 300 within a few months. Each winter, the population can increase up to 900 sea lions, most of which are male. No wonder everyone is happy with San Francisco. Good foods, pretty sceneries – even the Sea Lions are very happy and staying put.

Looks like I have been tagged not once but twice!! Ahem, that is a sign that I am getting more popular in the blogosphere? Hehe. I am tagged by Bee Lee and Listikal on 8 Random Facts about me. After much delays, here are 8 random facts about myself for those that are interested to know.

1. I love to draw. During my secondary school days, I used to paint portrait of people and even drew my own comic strips.

2. I am an avid photographer. I love nature photography.

3. My favorite movies are The Shawshank Redemption, Forrest Gump, Shadowland, Closer, and Patch Adam.

4. I love to sing too. My all time favourite singers are Jacky Cheung (HK), Alan Tam (HK) and Dreams Come True (Japan).

5. My favorite foods are Wantan Mee, Glutinous Rice, Red Bean Soup, and Roast Pork. I can eat anything even raw meats. Thus, it is easy for me to live in Japan.

6. I dislike sour fruits.

7. I always wish that I know how to play the piano. Haha I wish I can play the piano and sing, *ahem like Jay Chou.

8. I love to start my own business one day, most probably related to Information Technology.

Hi, My name is Kuan Hoong. I started blogging roughly 3 years ago (2004) on Blogger platform, however I feel it is time for me to get my own domain registered under my name. I was at town yesterday’s afternoon, and I found something interesting to share with you all. The latest gadget in town is called Murio. It is an Ipod dock robot speaker on wheels. Murio follows wherever you are and even dances for you. Designed by Japan’s ZMP Inc, it is built in partnership with audio giant Kenwood.

Miuro weights 11 pounds and is 13 inches. Miuri-makers ZMP are expecting to shift between 500 and 1000 units in the second half of this year. Miuro will connect now to your 802.11b/g wireless network to stream music from your PC or play Internet radio. The speaker section with double wall shell construction prevents vibrations, resonance sound and noise to deliver rich, pure sound. Miuro is available in white, black, yellow, or red. The liquid crystal display in the centre can display music track, time, artist’s name, net radio connection etc. When the remote communication package is installed (sold separately), the robot can mail pictures via the built in camera.
